Zygmunt Frankel was born in Poland, grew up (deported) in Siberia, and lived in England before settling in Israel. Frankel was a primarily a novelist and short story writer, but was also an accomplished painter, printer, translator, sculptor, editor, photographer and - last but not least - an accomplished automation engineer. He died in Israel in 1997.
