Kino Mistral was born in Milan. He practised architecture for several years,  before dedicating himself to painting. His major interest is ethnic sculptures and exotic art. He travelled extensively in central and south-america, in Saharan Africa and in the equatorial, in the Middle East, in Southeast Asia, studying the artistic expressions of different ethnic groups.  He lived in New York for two years, where he got to know  Andy Wharol and Bob Rauschemberg.
