Giuliano Ghelli. Italian artist (1944-2014) whose work was heavily influenced by geometric abstraction, pop art, surrealism and the Tuscan landscape where he lived all his life. Many of his works include dream-like narratives (often in the titles) and cartoon figures. in 1975 noted critic Tommaso Paloscia named Ghelli as of one of 50 top italian artists in the Catalogo Nazionale Bolaffi d’Arte Moderna. 
 
His works are found in the public collections of Servizio Musei Comunali, Florence; Museo della Contrada Priora della Civetta, Siena; Massa Marittima (province of Grosseto), Italy. in 2013 he was awarded the 'Commendatore dell'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana' and in 2015, Museo Civico di San Casciano Val di Pesa was re-dedicated as the Museo Giuliano Ghelli
